Ryan Allen Carrillo is Champion Skater. Ryan started his skating career at the age of six, roller skating in a small rink in San Diego, CA. His love of the sport helped him to progress quickly in the world of Artistic Roller Skating. By the age of sixteen he won the United States National Championship Title in Philadelphia. It was around that same time he was hired to do a professional skating show on inline skates. Since they were relatively new on the market Ryan had no experience on inline skates. In fact the first time he ever tried inline skating was in rehearsals for the show. The sport of inline skating at that time was non existent. Ryan was a natural and fell in love with the new sport. He immediately began training on ramps and street skating.
Training began in two completely different sports and managed to grab a few more titles: Two more Regional Championships, two silver medals at the U.S. National Championships and earned two trips to the World Championships representing the United States.
Hollywood soon noticed and Ryan became that guy producers called when a skater was needed. Ryan has worked with some of the most influential artists of our time and has been featured in a number of music videos with Beyonce, Mya, Kelis, Sugar Ray and most recently with the queen, Madonna. He has also been featured on the big screen in “Austin Power’s in Goldmember”, “National Lampoon’s Van Wilder” and the independent film “Circuit.” Ryan has also been featured in a number of commercials and live shows. Ryan’s skating has taken him all over the world and he has worked with a lot of charity organizations. Ryan’s skating style combines the artistry of competitive roller skating and the athleticism of inline skating. In several live shows Ryan has been seen performing extremely difficult artistic roller skating moves while on inlines and on vert ramps. Few people have been able to combine the two so successfully. To honor his athletic accomplishment and role in sports history, Ryan was presented an award honoring 100 gay professional athletes at the Gay Games VII in Chicago in 2006. Ryan has also turned into quite the entrepreneur. He has slowly stepped away from skating and has concentrated on business. He is currently working as an executive for a large restaurant / bar concept called Saddle Ranch Chop House in Hollywood, CA. He is working on expanding the concept across the country.
